Lottery in Arizona
The Arizona State Lottery is a lottery run by the government of Arizona and is a member of the MUSL or the Multi-State Lottery Association. The goals of the lottery include generating money for the public benefit programs that have been initiated by the Arizona government. The proceeds from the lottery are used to fund public programs in four different divisions of the state; education, health and public welfare, economic and business development and environmental issues. The division that receives the most funding is education receiving about 55.5% of the lottery's revenue. It is followed by health and public welfare which receives 44.1%.
